Trends Analysis - Engaging Learners with Technology
This was a group project that included a paper analyzing how technology can be used in the classroom to effectively engage learners in the digital age. In addition to the paper the project included a website with an embedded video that was used as part of a class presentation in which we demonstrated our point by using technology to engage our peers while foregoing the standard lecture, essentially practicing what we preached. Also, available on the website is an audio download of the paper for learners who prefer alternate content delivery formats.
ILT Competencies Demonstrated: 1, 3, 10
Competency 1: The project is a reflection on how technology can effectively be used to engage learners and increase interest in and retention of classroom instruction.
Competency 3: One focus of the project was an analysis of the 21st century learner including how technology can be used to appeal to and increase effectiveness for those learners.
Competency 10: This project included a classroom presentation of our reflections and findings to our peers. We created a website (link provided below) and incorporated some of the technologies we presented in our report as a method of demonstrating our findings and providing peers the opportunity to experience the technologies and applications we promoted.
